He directed the Drama Desk Award winning revised production of Working (adapted with with Stephen Schwartz and Lin-Manuel Miranda) at 59E59, Broadway In Chicago and the Old Globe. His acclaimed West End revival of Guys And Dolls was nominated for six Olivier Awards and recently finished an extended run at the Savoy and then the Phoenix Theatre in London (starring Rebel Wilson). For The Muny he has directed Holiday Inn (2015), West Side Story (2013) and Pirates! (2012).

GORDON GREENBERG (Director) recently co-wrote and directed the Broadway stage adaptation of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn for Roundabout and Universal Stage Productions. More information on the Goodspeed season can be found at 86 or. Tresnjak directed “A Little Night Music,' “Amour,” “Carnival” and “City of Angels” for Goodspeed before joining Hartford Stage in 2011. The show has a score by Leonard Bernstein, a book by Hugh Wheeler and lyrics by Richard Wilbur, with contributions by Stephen Sondheim and John LaTouche.

Tresnjak, who is as experienced with classic dramas and operas as he is with new musicals, seems an ideal choice to direct “Candide,' the musical version of Voltaire’s classic 18th century satire about an innocent who endures war, torture and heartbreak in what he’s told is “the best of all possible worlds.”

Two musicals he directed at Hartford Stage, “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” and “Anastasia,” went on to have Broadway runs and national tours. Closing the season is a welcome reappearance in Connecticut from Darko Tresnjak, who left his position as artistic director of Hartford Stage earlier this year.
